Hamilton Windows is proud to be a Certass qualified company. But what is Certass, and what does it mean for you as a customer?
Builders, glaziers, carpenters and plumbers have all signed up to be Certass Qualified. The scheme also welcomes roofers, painters, decorators and companies that fit flooring.
This quick guide explains why we’ve invested in Certass, and looks at the standards you can expect from us as a double glazing supplier.
What is Certass?
Certass is also known as Certass Limited. It’s a certification body that runs a Competent Person Scheme, assessing its members regularly to ensure its high standards are met.
As Certass members, we’ve opted in to membership. This involves a series of stringent assessments. Certass look at our TrustMark credentials, our finances, and our technical skills to make sure we’re being honest about what we do.
How it Works
Certass will assess Hamilton Windows more than once. As members, we have to submit to regular inspections.
Our insurance, skills and legal compliance are checked annually by independent auditors each year. And every 3 years, Certass carries out an on-site audit of the work we’ve done.
Each year, Certass also inspect the quality of our workmanship. That means we will be asked to supply them with items we’ve produced to ensure they comply with Certass’ standards and expectations.
What’s Inspected
Certass looks at replacement windows and doors, plus other glazing products like roof lanterns. It will also assess the quality of internal and external insulation.
Both domestic and commercial installations are inspected, depending on the product type.
Certass issues certifications for the products it has inspected, and there’s a specific category for glazing which our customers will be interested to read.
Thermal Ratings
Certass also runs a Thermal Ratings Register. This is a scheme that verifies the energy efficiency claims that double glazing companies make. This allows you to be confident that the rating on the window is accurate, and the marketing brochures you’ve read are closely matched to the products they describe.
The register covers the inspection of energy efficient double glazing, draught proofing and similar products.
There are also separate schemes for domestic window replacements, energy efficient products, and TrustMark membership.
A Glazing Company You Can Trust
Hamilton Windows puts its customers at the heart of everything it does. Our team is proud to have been accepted into Certass, and it joins a long list of certifications and trade bodies on our portfolio. Whenever we have the opportunity to prove our credentials, we’ll do so, in order to prove our commitment to quality.
We know that you have a choice when it comes to replacement windows, and every company has its plus points and positive feedback. When it comes to energy efficiency and quality, our Certass qualification proves we’re up there with the very best.
