That’s why we offer a wide range of materials and finishes for you to customise your window shutters with – whether you are fitting blackout shutters in your little one’s bedroom, gorgeous full-height shutters that let the natural light flow through your home, or trade shutters for a commercial project. Here are the shutter options we have available.
Materials
We offer the following high-quality materials for our various designs of plantation shutters.
Basswood: A popular option for both trade shutters and domestic window shutters, basswood is a strong, lightweight American hardwood that is resistant to warping. Its light woodgrain can be treated with natural staining or painted with a white finish.
Paulownia: When it comes to wooden shutters, paulownia offers a beautiful knot-free, fine-grain texture. It is an excellent option if you would like to be able to see the woodgrain through the finish, and is available in a range of colours. Paulownia is generally considered an eco-friendly timber due to its fast growth and regeneration.
Medium-density fibreboard (MDF): Our MDF shutters are ideal for homeowners on a budget. The affordable material is made from offcuts of timber and makes shutters that look modern, stylish and attractive. For custom shutters, you can choose from a wide range of white finishes, louvre (slat) designs, opening options and frame types.
White teak: Our white teak shutters are lightweight, durable and will not warp. They are available in a wide range of colours that allow the beautiful texture of the natural woodgrain to shine through. Our white teak shutters can also be tailored for louvre size – with the versatility of the material allowing slats of up to 76mm to be created.
Waterproof options: If you need interior shutters for your bathroom, you might like to consider a waterproof design. We offer uPVC shutters instead of wooden shutters for just such situations. The material is elegant, easy to clean and simple to maintain, and doesn’t take in moisture, which makes it resistant to warping.
Finishes
Depending on the look you would like to achieve within your home or business space, and the type of shutter you have chosen, we offer the following finishes for our interior shutters.
White: We offer various shades of white to help you achieve a classic shutter finish that beautifully complements the tones of the rest of the room.
Colour: Our wooden shutters can be finished in your choice of colour. Depending on the material you choose for your shutters, the colour can either be bold or let the natural woodgrain show through.
Natural stain: If you prefer your shutters to retain the natural textures and colours of the wood, then they can be finished with a light or dark wood stain.
